HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

The Fulton City School District is seeking an innovative, dedicated and collaborative educational leader for an anticipated opening to be the next Principal at G. Ray Bodley High School. Highly successful secondary teaching and leadership experience are required. Candidates must demonstrate a student-centered, culturally affirming approach to instructional leadership, data-informed continuous improvement, and supervision practices that lead to student achievement and teacher growth.
Starting Salary: $129,268.00 with a very competitive benefits and incentive program.
Applicants must have or be eligible for New York administrative certification (SBL, SDL).
The High School Principal leads the overall educational program of a comprehensive High School serving more than 1,000 students and acts as the primary liaison between the Superintendent and the school community, including faculty, staff, students, and families.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vision and Leadership

Articulate and lead a clear, compelling vision for teaching and learning grounded in equity and high expectations for all students

Demonstrate adaptive leadership, responding effectively to change, complexity, and emerging needs

Lead continuous reflection and improvement aligned to district priorities and Strategic Coherence Plan
Instructional Leadership

Serve as the lead instructional expert, ensuring high-quality teaching across all content areas

Implement data-driven instruction systems, including analysis of student work, common assessments, and progress monitoring

Lead cycles of continuous improvement with clear goals, action plans, and measurable outcomes

Build teacher capacity through coaching, feedback, and professional learning aligned to best practices

Ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to rigorous standards
Supervision and Evaluation

Conduct high-quality classroom observations aligned to our instructional framework

Provide actionable, timely feedback that improves teaching practice and student outcomes

Develop leadership capacity among staff through distributed leadership and team development

Use evaluation systems to support both accountability and growth

Act as a key liaison between the Superintendent and school stakeholders
Organizational Leadership & School Operations

Ensure efficient and effective school operations, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation

Oversee personnel recruitment, hiring, and retention aligned to district goals

Manage budgets, safety procedures, compliance, and reporting requirements

Maintain systems that support strong attendance, discipline, and student support structures
