Job Description

This is a probationary position.

Fulton City School District is proud to offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package for this full-time teaching position:

  • Starting Salary: $63,746

  • Master's Degree Stipend: $2,598

  • Graduate Credit Reimbursement: $140 per graduate credit towards a Master's Degree (beyond the initial degree).

  • Certified Experience Stipend: $500 per year of certified experience.

The Earth Science Teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive instruction in Earth Science to high school students, in accordance with New York State learning standards. The ideal candidate will use a variety of teaching methods to engage students, including laboratory investigations, fieldwork, and technology integration. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.

  • Establishing and communicating clear objectives for all learning activities.

  • Preparing classroom and course materials, including syllabi, handouts, and assessments.

  • Maintaining accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.

  • Managing student behavior in the classroom and during activities outside the classroom.

  • Communicating with parents, counselors, and administrators on student progress and development.

  • Participating in professional development activities and department/school meetings.

 

Qualifications

  • New York State Certification in Earth Science (Grades 7-12) or equivalent.

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Earth Science, Geology, Education, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current Earth Science curriculum and instructional best practices.

  • Experience in a secondary school teaching environment is preferred.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
